Seat handle bar and pulse rate

I quickly read two other reviews and I have to agree with them.
I have built many automatic machines and I currently manage a marina and get envolved with engines and boats all day long.
The alignment of your mounting holes to the taped holes are too tight and in some cases very difficult to atached the mounting screws. The most difficult was the pulse handle bar to the seat base. I also questioned the sequence of the seat assembly.
Our unit is completely assembled and has been in use for over one week. The only negative is that the pulse sensing does not work. That is not a show stopper but it would be great to have that info for maxium target rate exercising.

Although I had trouble with the assembly, once in operation the H35xr performs well. I can't anticipate how long it will do so, but I've used another Healthrider machine for about 15 years with no falling off in any part of its operation. I would give 5 stars to this one but for some parts of the assembly that really need four hands.
Good but pulse bar mount needs attention

Overall this product is well built and functions as intended with one major frustrating issue and this was the design of the pulse handlebars fitting the seat back.THEY DO NOT FIT THE SEAT BACK AS DESIGNED WHILE allowing the combination to be mouned to the seat base as illustrated in the manual. I had two people helping me assembly this unit and it was very obvious to us all the bolt holes for the pulse bar would never line up near the threaded holes on the seat back while trying to mount the two pieces as instructed. We finally mounted the pulse bar on the seat back FIRST and THEN mounted the seat back on the OUTSIDE of the seat base plate using five 8mm bolts and nuts WHICH I SUPPLIED. Overall I enjoy using the H35xr now that we solved the design error in the pulse bar seatback design. This needs attention at the factory. This fitting issue may vary unit to unit but ours did not fit as instructed. Good luck with your assembly.
A design flaw with seat handle for MY NEEDS

It took my daughter and a male friend 3 1/2 hours to assemble - seemed reasonable.
It is impossible for me to push down and pull up the seat handle without stopping my exercising program and taking my feet out of the pedals. The handle is TOO HARD to push down and it goes down too far. I have used bikes where I could stretch my knees forward and back without having to to take my feet out of the pedals. The seat handle was able to be pulled forward and back while continuing to exercise. Other than that I fine it great fun to get back exercising and stretching my legs after an illness. I would highly recommend the bike to others.

I find one design flaw for my need. While exercising, it is impossible for me to push down on the seat handle so I can change the distance of my seat without taking my feet out of the pedals. It is too hard and goes down too low. It is necessary for me to alter my knee stretch and I have used bikes where I can do that without having to take my feet out of the pedals. Other than that,

Easy setup and inepensive

Took about a hour to setup once I had everything out of the box. Priced right and already feeling the burn. I also noticed that this machine is very quiet which I enjoy while watching tv as I work out. Couldn't be happier:)

VERY quiet while riding, this was important since it is set up in living room. Sat in many bikes, didn't want to spend this much, but after having back surgery, needed something that was comfortable to me or I knew I wouldn't use it. Easy to sit and pedal and watch TV. Very happy so far!

the pulse monitor jumps around but i was told it did that for some people, the seat is stiffer than the model in the store but is getting a little better. the bike is user friendly and quiet to use. it took 1-1/2 hours to assemble by a person that knew what they were doing, however 2 people are required just to "help" out holding things in place, etc. overall very pleased, i would recommend to a friend.

Purchased 2 months ago.... Setting it up wasn't bad at all, (with two people). Took about an hour. Been using the bike daily for the last 2 months and have lost 21lbs. Gotta love it!
The bike is quiet and smooth to ride. I would highly recommend to anyone!

I purchased this product due to the quality of the product and the competitive price. My wife tried it out in the store and liked its comfort and quiet operation. The sales representative said it would take about 45 minutes to assemble. It took me approximately 3 hours to assemble this product, but it would have been cut in half if I had assistance (I assembled it alone, since I've assemble like equipment in the past). I agree with CTNR66; the pulse handlebars were the most difficult. The bike is excellent quality for the price and my wife enjoys the workout. Please note that I gave it 4 stars, but that may change if the product exceeds, or fails to meet, our expectations. In sum, I would recommend this product to a friend or family member.

I agree with the other reviewer in that the pulse handerbars are difficult to install. Total assembly time was about 3 hour. It appears to be a nice exerciser. Seat is easy to adjust and comfortable. My wife is 5'-4" and I am 5'-11" and it accomodates both of us. The controls are simple and easy to read. The small footprint make it easy to fit into a room. It operates smoothly. We paid $360 after a 10% discount plus tax at Sports Authority so the price seems pretty good compared to the high end bikes. So far, so good after 1 day.

All of the parts are neatly packaged and labeled. Assembly went well until it was time to install the pulse handle to the seat. We had to tilt the nearly assembled unit 90 degrees forward so we could see how to get the two bolts started. We first tried laying on the floor looking up and couldn't get the bolts started. Other than that it went together nicely. By the way, I turn wrenches for a living. Unit works well, but I've only had it a short time.

took 1-1/2 hours to assemble by a man that knew what he was doing, but takes two people. cons: the seat is not as comfortable as it was in the store and the pulse monitor jumps around. pros: quiet, good quality for price, user friendly, water holder. i am a woman that doesn't like to exercise and this appeals to me. this model doesn't have a book holder if you want one, nor a fan. the resistance levels are good, so are the programs.

I cycle on my rode bike 4-5 times per week.Bought this for days that are rainy or too cold.I love it .The computer is great .It is nice not to have to go to the gym.I can get my workout done in 1 hour and I am ready to start the day.Love it!

Great product, assembly a little cumbersome, but since I did not have an assistant as suggested in the assembly instructions I will say it was simply and well designed for novice assembly.
Seat is a little difficult to adjust but once I navigated around the final set-up procedures the unit is fantastic for the price. I rated excellent because set-up is only required one time and usage is daily it is absolutely perfect for a novice or a long time exercise enthusiast. Love it.

I am surprised at the performance of this bike.I had knee surgery and had been going to the gym.Since i can't walk long distances this has been good for my exercise.As senior citizen I feel I am getting great benefits with this eercise equipment.

This machine was not as difficult to assemble as some have claimed. My husband and I did it together with very little difficulty. I love the IPOD plug in feature - it makes your workout go by so much faster. Why pay for a gym membership when you can get a great workout in the comfort of your own home with this machine. I highly recommend it!

I love my recumbent bike ! My brother put it together for me and it didn't seem too difficult. The bike is very comfortable . The seat is large and very stable. I like the fact that the seat locks into whatever position you want without the pin type system. You just slide it to where its comfortable and push the lever to lock it into place. The controls are very easy to use and the operation is whisper quiet. Te best part is that I get to do my reading while cycling . Great for multitasking !

just purchased after some serious comparison shopping. Setup of the bike was no problem. You do not need any fancy tools, easily assembled by my husband and myself. The hardest part of assembly was the twenty minutes it took trying to attach the pulse handlebars to the back of the seat-very awkward position with tiny holes. Besides that setup took about an hour and a half. My quads already feel the burn after one workout. Will post more in the future.
