I have the old healthrider from like 10 years ago. It is still in perfect shape and I use it all the time. Quiet as a mouse, smooth and works every muscle. Very low impact full body workout. Wonderful for upper body toning and strengthening. Perfect for paraplegic training. If they can pull themselves onto it the workout it gives the upper body will put them in a marathon.
I have gone up and down in my weight do to my own fault but every time I use this thing religiously I get sculpted and fit. This thing is a miracle worker. Watch TV or use your music player close your eyes and lit it rip. I just did 30 minutes on it just now with the extra weights under the seat and feel awesome!!!!
This is a definite NEED TO BUY or you can get one from someone for free(seen them on freecycle) or at a garage sale and you are set to go for sure!
But by all means get one new if you can IT IS TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY.

I really enjoy the new healthrider. I offers a great cardiovascular workout and tones each muscle group as well with little or no impact at all. I use it three times a week and although i was already in good shape, it has improved my health tremendously and given me more muscle tone and fat burning options. This product is great and i would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those looking for a low impact workout.

This is my second Health Rider. I had the older model and used it for years,until the weights I had on the back begin to wear through the metal. I love the new model because of the low impact on your arms and legs. I use it three times a week for twenty minutes. I also like the way you can make the tention different during your workout. This machine really make you work and if you don't do it right the clock will not move.
Have one at Summer and Winter homes.

I actually purchased my first health rider from a neighbour and after using it for Winter I purchassed a second one on-line and had it shipped to my Summer location. Use them faithfully and regardless of weather conditions get the exercise I need. With sheduled use and little diet change I have lost considerable weight improving both my diabetes readings and blood pressure over the past year. Ir was not what I expected

I got this 6-7 month ago. First one of the parts was broken and I had to call and wait one more week for the new part. Then the handle does not fit correctly and the timer is not working.Overall I did not had a good experience with setting the machine up, but as far as using it is a good workout machine.

This new model did not work for me as well as the older one. I have been an avid HealthRider user for over 10 years and my husband bought me the new HR2 for Christmas this year. I had to send it back as it hurt my back to use. The resistance bar seems to make it jerky. I am going to buy the other model and get back to enjoying my HealthRider workout each morning.

I purchased my healthrider w/riser about 10 years ago and am still using it on a daily basic. No problems with it what so ever and it is sturdy as I would want it to be. Don't worry about parts breaking or any of that stuff. I enjoy my healthrider.

I was talking to a co-worker who is trying to lose weight. I was telling her about my Healthrider and how I have faithfully ridden it for nearly 20 years or so. I Googled it and lo and behold,they are still around! I use it as my weight work out several times a week since I gradually add about 30 pounds during the workout. Its worked great for me. Never had a problem with any part of the machine in fact, I don't think I've ever even had to replace the battery in the counter! I ride for 15 minutes a day now, 4 times a week...and do 45 minutes on the treadmill. Great work out! I used to have back trouble and it has strengthened me 100%. Thanks for such a great machine!

I have had mine for 20 years and really did not use it much..However, when I reached 62 I needed low impact for my joints--this was just perfect and now I use it all the time..Plus it is small enough to fit just about anywhere...This was very important as we have downsized our home....

My HealthRider HR2 was delivered 2-19-09.I have been searching for a rider like this ever since I had to throw away my a rider made by another company because I couldn't keep it from making a high pitched squeal when in motion. This rider is so very much better because the tension control, front and rear pedals, the overall adjustability make it, if desired, a total workout machine. I don't have to feel guilty anymore when I don't make it to the gym. I can now easily keep up the momentum at home.I am female, age 64, and I managed to assemble this rider alone. I do agree it would have been easier with a second person, but I was anxious to get started. A problem I had with assembly was getting the handlebar sleeve into the frame. It just did not fit. I made it work by gently sanding the sleeve (plastic) until I was finally able to insert it. It takes some patience fitting and tightening all the bolts and screws, but I was fortunate to receive parts that did finally all fit together. Properly tightened, it feels solid and very sturdy.A user manual with detailed assembly instructions is available in pdf format on this site. It was helpful to me in making the decision to try this unit.One review I read somewhere mentioned the HR2 model being jerkier than the older HR model. Although I didn't try the older model, I have to wonder if that person didn't get the unit assembled and tightened properly. Mine operates quite smoothly and I do so appreciate how quiet it is.The included DVD was helpful to me even though I have developed my own workout. It walks you through all the various foot and hand positions for working various muscles and gives one an idea how to use it for warm up, cool down, aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Most helpful to me was the demonstration of the unit in use so I could figure out how to adjust the seat and handlebars for appropriate fit for me.While this machine may not provide a total workout for the younger generation, I would recommend it to anyone over
